Birthday Month

I've been contemplating for the longest time if I should hold a party for my birthday next year. Ever since that huge (failure) bash when I was 20, I decided never ever to hold a large party again. Well, back then, the people I invited were of a different "class". This might sound condescending towards some, or make me sound like I have extremely high expectations of people, but the truth was I did not have good guests at that point of time. By that I mean, behavioral wise.

And so I stopped birthday parties after that incident happened but each year, I felt envious of friends who are able to host good parties for everyone's get together. The thing is, planning a party and all is such a tough job. You'll have so much to worry about and stress over, the food, the number of people attending, the location, the setup and the list goes on.

If I were to gather some friends for a night out with some drinks at the club, I wouldn't want to risk going home in puke and not remembering a single thing the night before or worse, having to take care of drunken friends. I honestly think that people ought to be responsible for themselves. We should all know our liquor limits. Don't drink just to get into the high and be irresponsible for your own actions, expecting others to take care of you.

Le sigh. I shouldn't waste away my youth right and totally have a smashing party. All I need to do is make some extra effort to plan a really awesome one and have a good time with all the important people in my life.

Everyone who is invited eventually will have to do an Ellie Goulding "Starry Eyed" dance together, no exceptions.

Summer Fun 2011




I know we're into Winter 2011 already but I miss this so much. Happy times! A great afternoon by the beach and a glass of mojito in the heat, not really the perfect perfect combination but I loved it. It's the company that counts. :)

Not particularly missing the bob hair cut though, that was so summer two thousand and eleven. I bid you farewell summer love, for right now, I shall make the best out of winter frost twenty eleven!

My Nuffnang Story

I started blogging since I was 14, I remember it was Trudy, my classmate, who urged me to start a blog as she had one of her own. Back then, I was very into blogspot.com and livejournal.com. I constantly read blogs like Corinne's (dancingupastorm.blogspot.com) which lead to my purchases on her very popular online store 'Candypulp'.

As such, blogs like these had Nuffnang's banners and surveys on them. It lead me to signing up for an account of my own as I thought it was interesting to have banners placed on my own blog too. Well, of course, my old blogs are now locked as they had too much private information on it. They're also a reflection of my past to show how much I've grown up.

How it begun:

3 years ago when I was still doing freelance modeling and also pageants (which I'm not exactly very proud of right now, but hey everyone has their past right?), I met Val at the Miss Earth Singapore 2009 pageant and our friendship blossomed to what it is today.

As Val was one of their top beauty bloggers, the first Nuffnang event she ever invited me to was the Blog Awards back in 2009. Though it was the first event I attended, I made quite a few new friends on that day itself! To name some, Liza, Josh and Violet (www.violetlebeaux.com)!


yeah, I pretty much got into the blackberry craze too. My first berry still brand new then!










Who would have thought 3 years later, I was part of their team. And the story continues with a lot more friendships and memories made through my time there.







While searching for old pictures, I found this image of Mel and I when working at Velvet. Gosh, photos really play a part in memories, if not for the invention of photography I wonder how much a human mind can actually remember as time passes!


If you're reading this, miss you, Mel! Thank you all for the memories! And thank you Nuffnang for all the memories thus far! I hope my NN journey won't stop here. May #NAPBAS 2011 be a successful one!!

Jetstream Lover

I would love to blog about what goes on in my life again. It's like this online journal, you pen down all these stuff you go through, and when you look back at these entries years down the road from now I want to go like "hey those were good memories".

Right now, an internet diary is just too revealing for someone like me who is too particular about privacy. Well, then again, of course I would love to conserve some natural resources such as paper to write on (i.e. hard copy diary).

So anyhows, just a few visuals of what's been going on in life. For memories sake.






Although much has changed but some things remained the same. Like how much I like Gui Boratto, Trentemoller & Deadmau5 remixes (because I'm listening to it now as I type this). Wish me luck, I should be studying for exams tomorrow but I just couldn't be bothered.

Salmon & Cream Cheese Crackers



I did these batch of Salmon & Cream Cheese crackers quite awhile ago. Got them recommendation from a friend and decided to try to make it on my own. Pretty easy I'd say! Here's how you do it!

You'll need:
1. Salmon (you can buy fresh ones from the Supermarket)
2. Plain round crackers
3. Cream cheese
4. Chopped spring onions
5. Salt

Steps:
1. Slice thin slices of salmon
2. Spread cream cheese on base of a cracker
3. Add salmon strips on top of cream cheese
4. Sprinkle chopped spring onions over the salmon
5. You might want to add some salt over the salmon cracker itself

And you're done! Hope it turns out yummy, even if it's not, I thought it was pretty fun making it. :)

(For the picture above, I put basil leaves instead of spring onions. Didn't exactly tasted the way I wanted it to be but you can try though)

Came across this short film on YouTube, someone sent me the link, and as I was watching through the whole video there was so much similarity and resemblance to what we all go through. Don't you think so? Indeed the scenes were all so real, well of course some humour were injected into the entire short film. It might be 16 minutes long but it's worth the watch!

Brunch At Hatched

I was craving for some pancakes last weekend, and since MacDonald's breakfast menu is only till 12 noon during weekends what more than to have pancakes at Hatched? Thank goodness for all day breakfast restaurants, you'll never miss breakfast again!

In order to satisfy this craving, I headed down to Hatched on a gloomy/cloudy Sunday to get some breakfast (or you could say brunch since it was already 3pm when I got there). As you can see in the picture right below, that is the poached eggs with salmon set. I honestly enjoyed this more than the pancake that I was having but well, at least I got to satisfy that craving!


It started pouring before I could finish my meal so I was stuck inside the restaurant for awhile before the sun came out again. No pictures of the pancakes as I thought they weren't as delectable looking in photographs. And another Sunday is here to come before we all head back to the busy Monday again.
